DILT is an induction logging tool, it provides four curves which are SP, deep induction(ILD), medium induction(ILM), 8-lateralog logging(LL8).
The instrument is specially designed to match GI system. Process software of the surface system is designed to work on deep induction signal and medium induction signal respectively for gain correction, probe error correction and skin effect correction and at the same time work on deep induction for de-convolution.
The conductivity can be measured in different depths of the borehole wall, thus providing the data to estimate the influence of mud filtrate on the formation invasion. The resistivity of the formation can be better measured in the situation of that the formation resistivity is less than 100Ω·m and the resistivity of mud filtrate is bigger than the resistivity of formation water.
